Android-based HTC Dream officially announced for Australia, Singapore

HTC has officially announced the availability of the Android-based Dream for both Australia and Singapore. As far as the phone itself, no real surprises as it seems to be the same exact model that we have here in the US. Otherwise the carrier will be Singtel in Singapore and Optus in Australia.

A specific launch date has not been announced for SingTel, however it will be available with Optus beginning on February 16, 2009. Additionally, some of the plan pricing details have been given for Optus. It looks like the plans will be ranging from $59 AUS on the low-end up to $129 AUS a month with both a 12 and 24-month agreement. Also, Optus appears to have the Dream priced from as low as $3 per month up to $51 per month depending on the plan you choose.
