Video: Chinese-made Dream G2 revealed

Ever wonder what would happen if a Palm and Android merged into one phone with elements from each working together? Naturally, such a device as the Dream G2 could only exist in China where “borrowing” from electronic devices is commonplace.

A video showing the Dream G2 — which has no affiliation with HTC or T-Mobile — has been posted to YouTube. The video shows a black mobile phone with Google branding running what appears to be the Android operating system. There are a few peculiar variations on icons, text, and apparent functionality of certain apps shown. The phone also includes a stylus that may be good for pinpoint accuracy; however, after using a G1 for nearly three months, I’ve yet to run into a case of mistakenly pressing the wrong button.  For Palm or stylus fans, it may be useful for graffiti or making use of the slim on-screen keyboard depicted in the video.

Examine the hands-on video for yourself and see what this Android-esque device offers.
