Just a few weeks back we first saw reports claiming that T-Mobile and HTC were expecting to sell 600,000 G1′s by the end of 2008, and now that estimate has been revised — and also upped. According to HTC CEO Peter Chou new estimates are now calling for 1 million G1′s to be sold before the end of the year.
In addition to the G1 sales estimates, Chou also took an opportunity to deny rumors of impending layoffs due to decreased orders. While details as to why the G1 estimates were seeing such a huge increase were kept quite, I can only imagine that the recent push in advertising has helped. Not to mention the word-of-mouth, personally I have shown quite a few people my G1 and have left them wanting one of their own.
