Google’s RC30 update “fixes” jailbreak issue

Well, almost as quickly as the G1 jailbreak was discovered, a new Google patch has taken it away. The latest over-the-air update for Android comes in the form of the RC30 update and is noted as being an “accelerated release” that will “fix” the recent jailbreaking issue.

According to Google, they are working with their “partners to push the fix out” and are “updating the open source code base to reflect these changes.” Bottom line, if you were not looking to jailbreak your G1, then go ahead and accept the RC30 update, and on the flip side, if you have already or were planning to jailbreak then you may want to hold off as long as you can before accepting this latest update.

It seems that just like Apple and the iPhone, that the cat and mouse game with Google and the G1 has begun. I wonder how long it will be before another enterprising user will discover another way to achieve root access?
