Well, it seems that the T-Mobile G1 has been successfully unlocked for use with other carrier SIM cards. All things considered this unlocking method has come pretty quickly, and it seems to be a really easy process.
The unlock process is as simple as entering a code, and the codes are being offered for $23.99 through Unlock-TMobileG1.com. Just visit their website and submit your payment and your IMEI number, which is done through PayPal and then sit back and wait for your unlock code to be delivered via email.
Then once you receive the code, just insert another non-T-Mobile SIM and then enter your unlock code when prompted. Once the code is entered, hit unlock and assuming the code was entered correctly you should quickly see a message that reads “Network Unlock Successful.”
After that enjoy your G1 on just about any carrier your choose. Of course, as with any unlocked phone, some network settings may need to be adjusted once the handset is unlocked.

Isn’t it a bad idea to be sharing your IMEI number with unknown parties?

you don’t have to pay for unlock code, just request through tmobile, for free! They don’t lock the phone to their network solely like others (AHEM, At/t and IPHONE) have.
If you buy phone fullprice, you can call tmobile and request this unlock code. If you got phone from somoene else, who was tmobile, have them request code on their account…that is free also. I’d do that before I paid the cash above!

My ipod 1G is my most important iPod, Personal digital assistant and even more, and even has happen to be since I bought it. It continues to run the most recently released iPod system software program, and any app I might need it to run. I’m using it to leave this comment at this time. Iwould point out you’ll find it a much more in comparison with solely an “excellent hobbyist system” — you’ll find it an great iPod
